This Weekend in Los Angeles 7.7.17

Headed out in the City of Angels? The post-holiday weekend may be one where some choose to recoup, but not our fair energized city. With weather into the high 80s and 90s, clear and sunny, there is plenty to take advantage of. Here are our top picks for this weekend in Los Angeles.
10 p.m. – 4 a.m. : Union Nightclub, 4067 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90019
Dialogue LA brings an interesting mix for this evening. Germany’s well-established Roman Flügel’s brings his interesting mix of acid house, techno and unique tracks that pique the senses to entertain your mind as well as your body.
If you are craving some classic Detroit feels with a new edge, look no further than Octave One’s set, comprised of brothers Lenny and Lawrence Burden. Having been involved in the scene for almost 30 years, their live show is one full of talent and experience.
Heidi Lawden, who splits her time between LA and London, will bring minimal techno and house with a subtle disco influence to warm up the dance floor.
Saturday 7.8: Desert Hearts presents City Hearts at Exchange
10 p.m. – 4 a.m. Exchange LA, 618 S Spring St, Los Angeles, California 90014
The last City Hearts in LA was in February, and Only The Beat had a stellar time. They’re back for a summer edition at Exchange. Exchange is a higher capacity venue, so be prepared for longer lines and more scrutiny at the door. Desert Hearts does a great job of transforming spaces and making whatever space they take over feel like home. Their positive and inclusive energy means you will certain meet some new friends on the dance floor. They usually have amazing vendors as well, with the flashiest of flash if your wardrobe isn’t up to par for the Burning Man-inspired dance party.
2 p.m. – 9 p.m. Liquid Frequencies Pool/Terrace, 8639 Lincoln Blvd, Westside Los Angeles 90045
We sure do love a day party- start the day at its peak, and dance it away with plenty of time to be in bed and up early for work on Monday (if you must). Disco Dive and Deep Downunder Productions take it to the West side, in fact quite close to LAX. Liquid Frequencies is super laid back, with no worries about dress code or table service. They’ve been supporting some great underground acts recently, and this party is no different.
YokoO, most recently touring with Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream parties, is sure to bring perfect pool party dreamy tunes. Lounging with a mojito or swaying on the dance floor, your Sunday is covered.
Local mover and shaker Anton Tumas of Subtract Music will also be bring his melodic, driving, lets-get-weird sound, which should not be missed. San Francisco staple Benjamin K keeps with the sexy sounds, rounding out the line-up. Show up early and stay the full time because each of these DJs will keep you flowing the entire day.
