Lazy Thanksgiving 2014 | Techno, Tech House, Deep House

All the turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing that you can handle is only four days away! I wanted to wish each and every one of you a very Happy Thanksgiving, so get lazy before the feast makes you lazy with Lazy Thanksgiving 2014! Music from Eric Prydz, Nicole Moudaber, Cristian Varela, and other hand-picked techno, tech house, and deep house favorites. Dig in!

Nathan Barato & Room 303 – Everytime I See You (Nicole Moudaber Remix) [Hot Creations]

I have been waiting months for this remix to drop, as I missed its release date back on November 3rd. I first heard this remix in Moudaber’s Music On Preparty set back in July. It was the bomb….and I’m glad it’s out for everyone to enjoy now.

Chambray – Ease [Ultramajic]

What is there to say about Chambray? His sound is filled with sharp claps and interweaving layers of percussion…making you go HAM whenever you put his material on full blast. His ‘Rub EP’ dropped on Ultramajic back in June, and the EP easily puts Chambray into the conversation of “Ones to Watch in 2015.”

Veerus & Maxie Devine – That Bongo [Suara]

Veerus & Maxie Devine just keep banging out the beats, left and right. “That Bongo” is a part of their ‘Be Sure EP’ that dropped on Suara on November 17th. I am still a huge fan of “My Beat,” and “That Bongo” is just another go-to for the tool belt.

Filthy Rich – Rendezvous (Nathan Barato Remix) [Incorrect Music]

Nathan Barato served up the perfect remix for Filthy Rich’s “Rendezvous,” which dropped on October 6th on Incorrect Music. This particular remix is worked into a handful of tech house podcasts and live sets I’ve listened to over the past month. It’s not going anywhere for a while….so get your ears in on the action while it’s hot.

Old School Fire: Cristian Varela – Live @ Shockers [04-26-2003]

Brute, ruthless aggression. Hard techno at its absolute finest. Pair this set with a cup of coffee or energy drink for maximum results.

Ross Evans – Let It Go [Saved Records]

One of the heavy hitters in tech house this past summer, Ross Evans’s “Let It Go” put Evans on the map. I am not up to speed on the London-based producer, so if you’re interested in checking out more of his sound, hit up his SoundCloud page here.

Jey Kurmis – LA Shazz [Hot Creations]

Jey Kurmis is a name on the rise after he dropped the ‘Lil’ Nic French EP’ on Hot Creations back in July. This artist defining EP has been championed by some of the biggest names in tech house including Heidi, Jamie Jones, Richy Ahmed and wAFF. “LA Shazz” specializes in a chunky percussive groove and heavy low-end. I am also a huge fan of another track off the EP, “Lover.”

Audiofly — Fela (Davide Squillace Simple Chaos Remix) [Get Physical Music]

Released back in January 2011, Davide Squillace propelled the original to further levels with his ingenious mixing skills…so much so that this remix is still being used in podcasts and live sets in 2014.

Mayer Hawthorne – The Stars Are Ours (Detroit Swindle’s Big Dipper Mix) [FREE DOWNLOAD]

Detroit Swindle gave away their Big Dipper Mix of Mayer Hawthorne’s “The Stars Are Ours” for free back in July. The funky piano riff is on point….and this is just one of those deep house tunes that will set you free.

What I’m Thankful For: Eric Prydz – Every Day [Pryda Recordings]

What am I thankful for this Thanksgiving? I’m still thankful for Eric Prydz’s “Every Day,” which was released back in October 2012. No other track has compared to the effect “Every Day” has had on my life for the past two years. “If every day goes like this, how will we survive?” Magic is in the air as 2014 comes to a close…and “Every Day” will still be at the forefront when 2015 strikes.
